"The Drop" has a ton of bounce and makes you want to immediately bob your head, if not bust out into a full on shake/twerk.  Bro Safari sometimes has a dubstep-ier edge but this is pure trap.

Catchy, if repetitive, bit of funky music.  Definitely going to end up in a very tame commercial for something, which is all the funnier given the fantastic, but very NSFW, video for the song.

SotD: Execution in Autumn - Wu-Tang Clan [New]

New Wu-Tang?? Sort of. "Execution in Autumn" is a previously unreleased track with the usual Wu-Tang vibe (great rapping over kung-fu beats).  You can even get it on 7" vinyl for as little as 50 cents (pay what you want) until May 31st.

SotD: New Slaves (DJ Fresh Direct Live Edit) - Kanye West

Another Fresh Direct remix - this guy has got himself a growing reputation for adding just the right amount of trap to the latest big songs.  The trap beat here makes "New Slaves" a lot better by making it feel like more than just Kanye West yelling at you.

Banks' rap adds a whole other level to Lazy Jay's decent electro-house track "Float my Boat".  Such a different kind of flow than you're used to hearing in normal rap but definitely in a refreshing way.

Major Lazer doing what they do best - crossing genres, sounding different, but songs that make crowds go nuts.  The horn melody (starts at :36) is just fantastic.

Dishonorable Mention: "Get Lucky" (Pitbull Remix)

Pitbull remixed Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" like only Pitbull can - he says "Mr. Worldwide," raps for 30 seconds, and leaves the rest of the song untouched (probably a good thing).  

(Full disclosure: Pitbull's older stuff is still crazy good party music) 


Pretty tight race between Pitbull and will.i.am right now for who exploits good electronic songs more.
